Nexus-supported startup Ubifab was one of two winning companies in the competition of the Pfizer-IIT Delhi Innovation and IP Program. Ubifab was selected from a field of over 80 startups from all over India.

Pfizer funding through this program will provide an unencumbered grant of upto Rs. 50 lakhs to take ideas through proof of concept, as well as incubation at IIT Delhi’s bio-incubator for a period of up to two years.

Ubifab was a member of the 4th cohort of the Nexus Incubator which graduated on August 2nd. It was one of three companies in the cohort chosen by Nexus for long-term incubation.

Ubifab’s innovation is a smart fabric coating which cleans itself from stains and odors when exposed to sunlight. Ubifab is in advanced discussions with major apparel manufacturers and fashion design houses in India. The Pfizer grant will support the development of medical applications such as bedsheets, curtains and gowns in hospitals.
