Adastra IP experts provide training on intellectual property rights, June 2018
The third week of the Nexus pre-incubation program focused on intellectual property rights (IPR). The startups in the fourth Nexus cohort received a week-long training on IPR and were provided with the tools and resources to protect them.
During the week Rahul Bagga, Director at Adastra IP, India and Malaysia and Tushar Gulati, Director of Business Development at Adastra IP, conducted a session on IPR issues faced by startups. The session began with explaining the concepts related to IPR and why it is important for startups to understand IPR at an early stage. It also covered an overview of patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets. Later in the session the speakers focused on how startups can achieve IPR protection and the best IPR strategies for startups.
Entrepreneurs came away with a deeper awareness of why and how they must constantly protect their intellectual property to successfully build their venture. Adastra IP also conducted one-on-one mentoring sessions with all the Nexus startups, which were very helpful for the startups to successfully plan their specific IP strategies.
