Nexus conducted its premiere Incubator Management Training Workshop from January 29-30, 2018. The workshop provided incubator managers best practices in American and Indian incubation management and was conducted by Glenn Robinson, Assistant Director at the IC² Institute of The University of Texas at Austin and current Managing Director of the XLr8 Andhra Pradesh Technology Business Accelerator.
We were joined by managers of incubators from all across the country including the National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), Invest India, Oracle Startup Cloud Accelerator, Bennett University, Indigram Labs Foundation, Hult Prize, FIIT and Espark Viridian Venture Accelerator.
The curriculum was divided into three days starting with the principles of technology business incubation, planning the incubation program, and finally technology commercialization and the role of incubators. The program covered topics which enhanced managers’ understanding of business incubator models, how to finance an incubator, monitoring and evaluation of startups, mentoring programs, and more. Participants got access to tools to help them and their startups during the incubation process, metrics to measure progress, and practical knowledge on how to develop and grow the incubation centers while supporting the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive and it was great to work with the new group of incubators from across India. Nexus will continue to bring in industry experts from the U.S. for these highly effective training workshops to develop the incubation ecosystem in India.
