To help Indian entrepreneurs connect with different ecosystems across the world, forge mutually beneficial relationships and to create a bond across different entrepreneurial ecosystems, Nexus hosted the students and faculty of the M.S. in Technology Commercialization (MSTC) program of he University of Texas at Austin at American Center on December 7th, 2017.
Nexus facilitated a workshop for the MSTC students to help them understand the startup ecosystem in India, and how Nexus is playing an important role in it. The session started with a presentation by Nexus’ Director, Rajneesh Kumar, followed by an interactive session with Arpit Agarwal, Principal at Blume Ventures, and Sandro Stephen, Head of North India Operations at Indian Angel Network (IAN) about the current state of startup ecosystem in India and how it is growing.
Arpit Agarwal shared some insightful thoughts about the growing venture capitalist landscape and other funding opportunities for the startups. He also touched upon the regulatory aspect of the financial structures in India and how they are forthcoming and evolving.
The workshop also included an interactive pitch session by Nexus startups to MSTC students. This will provide a unique opportunity to MSTC students and Nexus startups to work together and explore avenues for growth and technology commercialization in USA.
The M.S. in Technology Commercialization (MSTC) is a one-year master’s degree program focused on technology, business and innovation at the University of Texas at Austin.
The selected startups are part of the Nexus Pre-Incubation program, an intensive 10 week program to help startups commercialize their technologies by utilizing best practices developed by the IC² Institute and its partners around the world. Know more about it at startupnexus.net/incubator.
