Nexus startup Lifaffa was named second in the circular fashion collections at India’s biggest fashion event, Lakmé Fashion Week held in Mumbai on January 31, 2019.

Out of 900 entries from more than 30 cities in India, Lifaffa was one of the eight designers selected to showcase their products at the event.

For this event Lifaffa showcased a collection which it has created in collaboration with one of the urban artisan groups it supports, Akseer. The collection used handmade recycled plastic, embellished with traditional Afghani embroideries.

According to Kanika Ahuja, founder of Lifaffa, their business pitch also generated a lot of interest at the event.

The Circular Design Challenge is a joint project between by Reliance Industries’ R.Elan, Lakmé Fashion Week, and the United Nations.
