On June 26th, Nexus-supported startup GnomikX won a second place in Lemon Ideas’ yearly contest, INNOPRENEURS. This contest is a national level platform that enables individuals of all kinds, such as students and professors, to exchange ideas and innovations with one another. Contestants are split into four preliminary rounds, orange, white, green, and chakra, prior to the Grand Finale. The top three winners from each round are then placed into the Grand Finale.

As the runner up of INNOPRENEURS’18, GnomikX was awarded INR 75,000 ($1150). Along with the runner up prize, all three winners were also given access to the seed fund of 50 lakh as well as incubation and mentoring sessions.

GnomikX was part of the third cohort of Nexus. GnomikX is a healthcare company that predicts the risk of an individual getting diabetes, hypertension, and obesity using genetic information hidden in DNA. GnomikX then uses these results to provide customers with personalized prevention plans as well as lifestyle changes such as diet, nutrition, and exercise in order to prevent these diseases.
